Powder thickener for food products (liquids and semi-liquids).
It has a patented amylase-resistant formula (Nutilis "blocks" the action of amylase, preventing food from becoming too thin and therefore dangerous for the patient to swallow).
The mixture does not change consistency, allowing the patient to swallow safely.
Neutral taste, does not alter the flavour of the food to which it is added.
Gluten-free.
Indications Food for special medical purposes, indicated for patients with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).
To be used as a thickener for liquids, semi-liquids or blended meals.

Directions for use Preparation guide:
Option 1: with the shaker 1. Pour the drink into the shaker.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Screw the lid on tightly and shake vigorously until the powder has completely dissolved (about 5-10 seconds).
4. Gently stir the drink for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. Leave to stand for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired thickness.
Option 2: with a fork or small whisk in the shaker or in a tall container 1. Pour the drink into the shaker or a tall container.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Stir vigorously until the powder has completely dissolved.
4. Stir gently for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. Leave to stand for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired thickness.
Option 3: with a fork or small whisk in a cup 1. Pour half of the drink into a cup.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Stir until the powder is moistened and has an even consistency.
4. Add the remaining liquid to the cup.
5. Stir the drink for about 1-2 minutes until a thickened mixture is obtained.
Leave to stand for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired thickness.
Important: Do not add more Nutilis during the standing time, as the liquid will continue to thicken.
Adding more Nutilis to thickened drinks: once the drink has been thickened with Nutilis, more Nutilis Powder can be added to increase the thickness of the fluid.
For the best result and an even consistency, please follow the instructions below.
For optimal results use a shaker.
1. Add about half a scoop to the thickened liquid.
2. Screw the lid on tightly.
3. Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds.
4. Unscrew the lid and stir gently with a fork for a few seconds.
5. Check the consistency.
6. If you wish to increase the consistency, repeat steps 1 to 5 adding no more than 1 scoop at a time.
Hot drinks (temperature > 60°C): at the end of preparation leave the liquid to stand for a few minutes to reach the desired thickness.
For optimal results and for your safety, it is recommended to let hot drinks cool slightly before thickening them.
If necessary or preferred, drinks can be heated in the microwave after adding Nutilis.

Note: if you wish to reheat a thickened hot drink, make sure you heat it immediately after thickening. Drinks containing milk should be consumed within 2 hours to prevent spoilage.
