Description
Medical device indicated in case of nasal obstruction to help eliminate mucus; the product can also be used as a complement to treatments for the most common respiratory conditions (common cold, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis). The ready-to-use vials are indicated for treatment of the upper airways. The vials can be used both for aerosol therapy and as nasal drops.
Directions for use
Aerosol therapy
For optimal distribution of the preparation in the upper airways, use with a micronised nasal douche fitted to common pneumatic aerosol devices is recommended. It can also be used with all types of aerosol devices (pneumatic or ultrasonic): in this case, again for better distribution in the upper airways, use with a nasal fork is recommended.
Blow your nose. Detach a vial and open it by twisting the top. Pour the entire contents of 1-2 vials into the aerosol device container. Follow the device instructions and inhale until the ampoule is completely empty.
Children over 3 years and adults: 1 vial 1-2 times a day, or 2 vials once a day.
Nasal use
Blow your nose. Detach a vial and open it by twisting the top. Tilt the head to the side and back, insert the tip of the container into the nostril and press gently, delivering the recommended dose. Repeat for the other nostril. Raise the head to let the mucus drain and wipe off any excess product. Avoid blowing your nose immediately after administration to prolong its action. Close the vial carefully and store in a dry place away from sources of heat and light.
Children over 3 years and adults: 2-3 drops per nostril up to a maximum of six administrations a day.
Components
Pirometaxina (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid and copper sulphate pentahydrate), vegetable glycerol, sodium chloride, purified water.
Warnings
The product is for nasal use as drops and for aerosol according to the instructions above. Do not swallow. Use in children must be supervised by an adult. Use one vial for one person only. Use only on intact mucosa. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity or incompatibility with any component of the product. A slight, temporary burning sensation may be felt on application; this is linked to the characteristics of the solution needed to ensure its efficacy. In children under three years of age, during pregnancy and in case of concomitant drug therapy, the product may be used on medical advice. Prolonged use of the product, as with all topical products, may cause sensitisation or local irritation; if this occurs, stop treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use the product if the pack is damaged or not perfectly intact when first opened. Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the pack. Keep the product out of the sight and reach of children. No side effects related to the use of the product are known. Tests carried out on the product to date have not shown sensitisation or other side effects. If discomfort occurs, consult your doctor.
Storage
Store in a dry place, away from sources of heat (recommended temperature between 10 and 30°C) and away from light. The expiry date shown on the pack and on each vial refers to the product intact and correctly stored.
