Description
Moisturising, epithelium-protective, soothing and lubricating ophthalmic solution.
Sterile aqueous hydrogel containing: polyvinyl alcohol, with a lubricating, moisturising, viscoelastic, mucoadhesive and protective action; dexpanthenol, a homologue of pantothenic acid belonging to the B vitamin group, a vitamin tissue nutrient with an epithelium-protective action; hexamidine diisethionate, polyhexanide hydrochloride and disodium edetate with a protective action.
Thanks to the properties of its components, the product is indicated as an adjunct in the corneal re-epithelialisation process, particularly following stress or physical insults.
The presence of antiseptics in the formulation ensures the sterility of the ophthalmic solution after the bottle is first opened, helping to protect eye tissues from irritation. The concentration of polyvinyl alcohol in the product (1.25%) has been specifically designed to give the resulting hydrogel rheological characteristics similar to those of tear fluid and effective adhesion to the ocular mucosa, with a lubricating, moisturising and protective effect without blurring vision. This hydrogel also ensures prolonged residence of the components on the ocular mucosa, supporting their vitamin-nutrient action as an adjunct to re-epithelialisation.
Methylsulfonylmethane, one of the excipients in the formulation, a substance containing bioavailable sulphur, facilitates the surface absorption of dexpanthenol by activating cell permeability. It is an aqueous colloidal liquid with the following chemical-physical characteristics: it is perfectly clear and colourless; it is miscible with tear fluid in all proportions; its pH, viscosity and osmolarity values are fully compatible with eye tissues and tear fluid, and it therefore has a high degree of tolerability.
Directions for use
Instil 1-2 drops of the solution into the eye by gently squeezing the bottle. It is advisable to repeat 2-3 or more times a day. If used together with other eye drops, it is advisable to use them at different times to avoid mutual dilution.
Components
Polyvinyl alcohol 1.25%, dexpanthenol, hexamidine diisethionate 0.050%, polyhexanide hydrochloride 0.0001%, methylsulfonylmethane, disodium edetate, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic potassium phosphate, purified water.
Warnings
External use. For veterinary use only. Do not let the dropper tip touch any surface, to avoid contaminating the solution. Do not touch the eye with the dropper tip. Do not use in case of eye infections. Do not use at the same time as other eye drops. Close the bottle tightly after use. Do not use any leftover product. Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the pack. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use in case of individual hypersensitivity or known incompatibility with any component of the preparation.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
Shelf life after opening: 30 days.
