Description Food supplement useful for improving visual and mental performance and for helping to prevent maculopathy. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids, derivatives of vitamin A, which the human body cannot synthesise and which must be obtained through the diet. Once taken, they enter the bloodstream and are selectively deposited in the back of the eye, where they act as a protective screen for the retina. Alpha-lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant and neurotrophic agent, and together with B vitamins, selenium, copper and zinc it supports better transmission of the visual signal to the brain, reducing the body's reaction times. Phosphatidylserine, a component of plasma membranes, increases concentration in case of work or competitive stress. DHA, contained in algal oil, supports retinal blood microcirculation and reduces the risk of drusen, which are the first tangible sign of the onset of maculopathy. Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. The formulation is completed by vitamin C and vitamin E, powerful antioxidants.
