Lithosolv 100 Retard Tablets

Description
Food supplement of alkaline potassium salts, particularly helpful for people experiencing heavy fluid loss, such as heavy sweating, diuresis or diarrhoea, or for patients on medicines such as diuretics, laxatives or corticosteroids.
LITHOSOLV is also able to correct excessive acid load, which can be assessed directly by measuring urinary pH; this can easily be done using the strips included in the pack.

Ingredients
Tribasic potassium citrate.

Directions for use
Take two tablets a day, unless otherwise directed by a doctor.
LITHOSOLV should preferably be taken on a full stomach, swallowing the tablet with a little water.
For other indications (prevention of kidney stones) follow your doctor's prescription.

USING THE pH STRIPS
Collect urine in a container.
With dry hands, take a strip from the clear pouch and dip it in the urine for 1 second; remove it and let the excess urine drip off. The wet part of the strip will change colour depending on the pH of the urine.
Within 2 minutes, compare the colour of the strip with the reference colour scale in the pack.
Read the value corresponding to the colour closest to that of the strip.
Single-use strips should be thrown away with household waste after use.
Note: any change in the colour of unused strips does not affect their accuracy.

Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age.
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
LITHOSOLV is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalaemia or hypermagnesaemia, or with conditions that may predispose to such plasma changes. These conditions include chronic renal failure and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
Taking LITHOSOLV together with potassium-sparing medicines (triamterene, spironolactone, amiloride) may cause hyperkalaemia. Monitoring of blood potassium levels is therefore advised.
No interactions with other medicines are known. Rarely, mild gastrointestinal disturbances may occur during use, such as abdominal heaviness, nausea and occasionally diarrhoea. The tablet form may be particularly suitable for these people.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
Shelf life from the date of manufacture, in unopened packaging: 24 months.
