Thanks to its high content of Shea butter (over 70%) and Calendula oil, Apix propolis Soothing Ointment forms a protective, active lipid film on the skin. The ointment also contains Propolis and Grapefruit Seed extracts.
Propolis
Its name, of Greek origin, means "defender of the city". People soon learned that, just as it defends the hive from attacks by microbes and bacteria, Propolis can also help the natural defences of the human body. Yet in many ways this remarkable product remains mysterious: its origin is still not entirely certain, although the most widely accepted theory today holds that bees obtain it from plant resins. Propolis is a powerful concentrate of natural defences: it contains at least 180 substances active on the body's physiological defences, notably flavonoids and above all galangin.
Grapefruit Seeds
The properties of Grapefruit Seeds are one of the most interesting discoveries of recent years. They were identified in 1964 by an American doctor, Dr Jakob Harich. Later studies revealed that these seeds are rich in substances with antioxidant and soothing activity, such as bioflavonoids, in particular hesperidin, kaempferol and naringin. These act without harming the intestinal bacterial flora or weakening the immune system. The ointment also contains Apricot oil, particularly emollient and nourishing.
Useful for nourishing and protecting the skin of the nose and lips irritated by colds and seasonal complaints. Apply to the lips and around the nostrils.
Contains no fragrance, parabens or colourants.
