herp Complementary feed
for cats The product is intended to supplement the diet with Lactoferrin and Lysine in cats exposed to infectious pressure (for example carriers of Herpes Virus and Calicivirus) at the first appearance of symptoms and during flare-ups.
Lactoferrin is a natural protein that mammals receive at birth through colostrum and breast milk and is physiologically present in all body fluids (tears, saliva, bile, urine, blood, semen, cervical mucus), that is, wherever an immediate non-specific defence against the entry of infectious agents from outside is needed.
Lactoferrin is a component of cow's milk, from which it can be isolated using special purification techniques.
The product contains a specific protein fraction of milk that is particularly rich in Lactoferrin.
It is combined with Lysine, whose nutritional supplementation in adequate amounts helps sustain and support animals' ability to respond to the difficulties arising from possible infections.
Ingredients
1 ml of Herp provides:
• Lactoferrin: 60 mg
• Lysine hydrochloride: 250 mg (equal to 200 mg of Lysine base).
Directions
For oral use
Give 1 ml per 2 kg of the cat's body weight twice a day for the first 7 days, then halve the amount (1 ml per 4 kg of body weight twice a day). Depending on the pack, use the graduated dropper (50 ml pack) or the graduated syringe (120 ml pack) supplied or, alternatively, bear in mind that:
• 1 coffee spoon corresponds to about 2 ml;
• 1 teaspoon corresponds to about 3 ml.
Give the set amount, preferably divided into two different times of day, directly into the mouth or mixed with a little favourite food.
Herp should be given at the first signs of symptoms and until they have subsided.
In the case of chronic conditions, the product should be given continuously or in cycles at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon.
