Directions for use Before preparation, wash your hands and sterilise the feeding equipment. Prepare one feed at a time and give it immediately.
The dosages shown are indicative and may be adjusted, according to the doctor's recommendations, based on the weight and age of the preterm/low birth weight infant.
The standard fortification level is 1 g in 25 ml of breast milk. It is recommended to increase the dose gradually, starting with 2 g in 100 ml of breast milk. After assessing tolerance over 24 hours, increase the fortification (up to 4 g in 100 ml of breast milk) or follow the instructions given by the hospital.
Prepare one device (bottle, syringe or enteral feeding container) at a time and give immediately.
If the breast milk is frozen, thaw it gradually in the refrigerator (below 4°C). Do not use a microwave oven or leave it at room temperature to thaw.
Shake/swirl the breast milk before pouring it into the device. Pour only the required amount of breast milk to be fortified into the chosen device. Before adding the fortifier, warm the breast milk to body temperature. Do not use a microwave oven.
Add the required amount of Nestlé preNAN Human Milk Fortifier FM 85 to the desired amount of lukewarm breast milk (35-40 °C), following the standard preparation (1 g in 25 ml of breast milk) or a specific reconstitution if prescribed by the doctor. Close and shake gently until the powder has completely dissolved and give immediately.
For enteral feeding: once the fortified breast milk has been prepared, use it within 4 hours.
Warnings Breast milk is the ideal food also for preterm or low birth weight infants. Breastfeeding should continue for as long as possible.
Incorrect reconstitution may pose risks to the infant's health.
Mainly for hospital use; use under medical supervision.
Supervise the infant during feeding and do not leave them alone, to avoid the risk of choking.
Not a complete food.
Not suitable for infants with confirmed cow's milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance or congenital metabolic diseases such as galactosaemia/glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Not for parenteral use.
Never store leftover fortified milk after each feed. Opened sachets must be used immediately or discarded.
Storage Store in a dry place away from heat sources.
Shelf life in intact packaging: 18 months.
Pack size 72 sachets.
Net weight: 72 g.
