Description Food supplement based on Salix alba, gastro-protected pineapple bromelain (Bromelami retard), Boswellia serrata and vitamin B12, useful in all cases of reduced intake or increased requirements. Properties Boswellia serrata is a key element of the Ayurvedic medicinal tradition, used for its traditionally attributed anti-arthritic, astringent, expectorant and antiseptic properties.
According to studies, the active substances in the plant:
-reduce inflammation in models of systemic inflammatory conditions;
-reduce the response of the antibodies generally involved in the onset of autoimmune conditions;
-inhibit activation of the complement system, which can increase the inflammatory and autoimmune response;
-exert a modest pain-relieving effect.
These actions appear to be associated with the ability of boswellic acid to selectively inhibit the enzyme 5-lipoxygenase, involved in the synthesis of inflammatory mediators.
Vitamin B12 is an important coenzyme for cell reproduction and DNA synthesis. It also has positive effects on the health of the nervous system and the brain. The role of this vitamin in preserving nerve health is mainly due to its antioxidant and biosynthetic role, useful respectively in protecting the nerve fibre, and in particular its myelin sheath, from lipid peroxidation caused by reactive oxygen species, and in the synthesis of nucleic acids and fatty acids needed to maintain neuronal trophism.
Salix alba, or white willow, is used in folk medicine mainly for its anti-inflammatory activity, due above all to the inhibition of cyclooxygenases, the enzymes most involved in the inflammatory cascade. These activities are attributed to its salicin content which, once ingested and following intestinal and hepatic metabolism, is converted into salicylic acid. Thanks to this activity, it is traditionally used for rheumatic discomfort.
Gastro-protected bromelain (Bromelami retard) is a proteolytic enzyme found in two different forms in the juice, the pulp and above all the stem of the pineapple; it is mainly used for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oedema action. Aristeia Farmaceutici has included a special gastro-protected form of bromelain so that the functions of this enzyme are not affected in the stomach, thus ensuring maximum effectiveness. It is considered particularly useful for soft-tissue inflammation associated with trauma and for localised inflammation.

Directions for use Take 1 tablet, swallowed with plenty of water, preferably on a full stomach, 1 to 3 times a day.
