The Natura convex skin barrier is a barrier with convexity, created specifically to manage retracted stomas. It consists of a three-layer central adhesive disc made up of an upper and lower layer in Durahesive Technology and an intermediate layer of polyethylene film, surrounded by an adhesive non-woven support. The support ring is surrounded by a flexible microporous adhesive tape fully coated with a thin layer of hydrocolloid in contact with the skin. A circular flange with an accordion mechanism and an interlocking rail is fixed to the adhesive. This structure allows completely atraumatic, secure attachment and an airtight seal. This ensures that the pouch does not accidentally detach from the barrier while providing a seal against any leakage of odours or output.

(°) Total skin barrier made of inert, non-irritating hydrocolloid substances: gelatin, pectin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polyisobutylene.
When Durahesive adhesive comes into contact with output, it swells, absorbing moisture, and forms a characteristic collar ("turtleneck effect") around the stoma, protecting it from contact with output and extending the wear time of the device.
The special convex insert creates a mechanical action that helps the stoma protrude and facilitates the passage of output directly into the pouch. The peristomal skin is thus protected from contact with output and from harmful skin irritation.
The accordion structure, which allows the fingers to be inserted comfortably to attach barrier and pouch, is completely atraumatic. This advantage makes positioning easier for healthcare staff during a hospital stay, for the carer or for the patient once at home.
The thin microporous hydrocolloid tape makes the barrier flexible and particularly suitable even for abdominal profiles with folds or skin irregularities, ensuring maximum comfort and freedom of movement. Finally, the hydrocolloid powders ensure adhesion in a moist environment, so the barrier stays attached to the skin even during baths or showers.
