Description
Thanks to its affinity for water, macrogol 3350 helps absorb the water in the intestinal lumen, increasing stool volume and making stools softer and easier to pass without causing cramps, abdominal pain or urgency. The water-soluble fibre in psyllium forms a gel that hydrates the faecal mass. Thanks to this ability, psyllium promotes the regularisation of bowel function, stimulating peristalsis, reducing intestinal transit time and aiding evacuation. The simethicone in the formulation, thanks to its anti-foaming action, is effective in absorbing the gastrointestinal gas associated with constipation.
Ingredients
Each sachet contains: macrogol 3350, psyllium and simethicone; excipients: citric acid, sucralose, acesulfame K, flavourings (orange and safflower), silicon dioxide, sodium bicarbonate, sunflower lecithin.
How to use
Children aged 6 to 12: 1 sachet a day.
Adults and children >12 years: 2 sachets a day.
Dissolve each sachet thoroughly in a full glass of water and drink immediately.
Warnings
Consult your doctor before using the product in children.
Since psyllium forms a gel, the product must be taken between meals with an adequate amount of water (at least one full glass of water, two glasses if possible), to prevent it from swelling in the throat and causing choking. Adults are advised to drink at least two litres of water a day, and children and adolescents at least 1-1.5 litres a day. If the condition persists after taking the product, consult your doctor.
Do not take Stipsigol Plus in case of:
- intestinal obstruction or stenosis;
- intestinal perforation;
- inflammatory bowel disease.
There is no experience of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so the product should only be taken on medical advice. No dose adjustment is needed in patients with impaired kidney function. Use the product until symptoms resolve. Repeated use may be necessary in case of refractory or chronic constipation. This type of constipation may be caused by painkillers (opioids) and by medicines for Parkinson's disease (anticholinergics), or may occur with diseases such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's. In these cases, do not take the product for more than thirty consecutive days; if symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use the product in children under six. Do not take after the expiry date.
Storage
Store in a dry place away from direct sources of heat or light. Open the sachet only at the time of use.
Keep the device at a temperature below 25 °C.
Shelf life in unopened packaging: 36 months.
