Description
Food supplement of Cascara sagrada and Green anise, useful for intestinal wellbeing. Cascara helps the regularity of the intestinal tract, while Anise supports normal gastrointestinal motility and the elimination of gas. Both ingredients contribute to digestive functions.

Ingredients
Lactose monohydrate; Bulking agent: Powdered cellulose; Cascara sagrada (Rhamnus purshiana L.) bark dry extract (on a lactose carrier), Green anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) fruit powder; Bulking agent: Cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose; Anti-caking agent: Magnesium salts of fatty acids.
Contains lactose.

Cascara sagrada dry extract	86.0 - 161.6 mg (equivalent to 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives calculated as cascaroside A)

Directions for use
2 tablets twice a day, to be swallowed with water without chewing, preferably morning and evening.

Warnings
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Do not dispose of in the environment after use.
In rare cases spasmodic gastrointestinal complaints may occur. In these cases the dose must be reduced. In case of chronic use or abuse, loss of electrolytes, particularly potassium, albuminuria and haematuria may occur, as well as pigmentation of the intestinal mucosa, which is however harmless and regresses once intake is stopped. Potassium loss can lead to changes in heart function and to myasthenia, particularly if cardioactive glycosides, diuretics and corticosteroids are taken at the same time.

Interactions with other medicines
None found. In case of chronic use/abuse, the resulting potassium loss may intensify the effect of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmics. Potassium depletion may be aggravated in combination with thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids and liquorice (dry extract, root).

Contraindications
Ileus, acute inflammatory bowel conditions (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis), abdominal pain of unknown origin. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and children under 12 years of age.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place.
Shelf life in unopened packaging: 24 months.
