Apromé Low-Protein Shortbread Biscuits 180 g

Apromé Frollini by Eurospital are dry biscuits with a classic taste, made with low-protein ingredients and a limited intake of sodium, phosphorus and potassium. They are classed as foods for special medical purposes and make it possible to include a sweet treat in the daily diet of those following a controlled regimen.

The same recipe meets three different dietary needs:

• Chronic kidney failure: reduced intake of protein, sodium, phosphorus and potassium
• Phenylketonuria: low phenylalanine content, 60 mg per 100 g
• Parkinson's disease treated with levodopa: the limited protein content does not interfere with absorption of the amino acid

Ingredients: maize starch, tapioca starch, vegetable palm oil, sugar, maltodextrin, glucose syrup, honey; raising agent (ammonium hydrogen carbonate), thickener (pectin), emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), flavouring. May contain eggs, milk, cereals containing gluten, lupin, sesame, mustard and soya. Average values per 100 g: 450 kcal, 13 g fat, 82 g carbohydrates, 1.0 g protein, 40 mg sodium, 30 mg phosphorus and 40 mg potassium.

180 g pack, with a shelf life of 24 months when unopened. In patients treated with levodopa, the doctor should assess any dysphagia and the risk of malnutrition linked to protein restriction.
