Mepilex Lite

CE Medical Device. Thin, highly conformable foam dressing that absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound environment. The Safetac layer adheres to the wound edges, preventing exudate from leaking onto the surrounding skin, thus minimising the risk of maceration. The Safetac layer ensures atraumatic dressing changes. Mepilex Lite can be cut to fit wounds of different shapes and locations. The dressing consists of:
• a wound contact layer in soft silicone (Safetac)
• a thin absorbent pad in polyurethane foam
• a breathable but waterproof outer film.

Directions for use
Clean the wound according to normal procedures. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Remove the protective films and apply the adhesive side to the wound. Do not stretch the dressing during application. For best results, Mepilex Lite should cover at least 2 cm of healthy skin around the edge of the wound. Cut the product if necessary. If necessary, secure Mepilex Lite with a bandage or other fixation.
Mepilex Lite can be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on the condition of the wound and the surrounding area and in accordance with the instructions of healthcare staff. A change in wound treatment is often accompanied by an increase in exudate levels. Check the condition of the wound carefully and increase the frequency of changes.

Precautions
In case of infection, consult a doctor. Do not use Mepilex Lite together with substances containing oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide. Store in a dry place at temperatures below 35°C (95F); do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged. Sterility guaranteed only if the packaging is intact. Single-use product. Do not resterilise.
