OMRON
Description
This device is a digital monitor intended for measuring blood pressure and pulse rate in adult patients. The device detects the presence of an irregular heartbeat during measurement and indicates it with a symbol together with the measurement result.
The patient's arm circumference must be between 17 and 42 cm.
This device is used by healthy individuals, patients with hypertension and health-conscious people, in general home settings, to measure blood pressure and pulse rate.
Warnings
Remove the monitor and other components from the packaging and inspect them for any damage. If the monitor or any other component is damaged, do not use it.
Do not use the monitor on an injured arm or an arm under medical treatment.
Do not apply the cuff to the arm while it is receiving an intravenous drip or blood transfusion.
Do not use the monitor on infants, children or persons unable to express themselves.
Measuring more often than necessary may cause bruising due to interference with blood flow.
Inflating to a pressure higher than necessary may cause bruising on the arm where the cuff is applied. NOTE: refer to the section "If your systolic pressure is more than 210 mmHg" at the end of instruction manual 2 for further information.
In case of skin irritation or other problems, stop using the monitor and consult your doctor.
Do not change medication doses (including changes in the use of any medicine or treatment) based on measurements obtained with this blood pressure monitor. Take medicines as prescribed by your doctor. Only doctors are qualified to diagnose hypertension and heart disease and prescribe the related treatments.
Do not self-diagnose or self-medicate based on measurement results. Always consult your doctor.
If you experience any symptoms or problems, consult your doctor.
Do not postpone or stop routine check-ups or medical visits based on the results obtained with this monitor.
Do not use the monitor in areas where high-frequency (HF) surgical equipment, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment or computed tomography (CT) scanners are present. This may cause the monitor to malfunction and/or give inaccurate results.
Do not use the monitor in oxygen-rich environments or near flammable gases.
Consult your doctor before using the monitor in the presence of common arrhythmias such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation, arteriosclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia or kidney disease.
NOTE: the presence of any of these conditions, as well as patient movement, trembling or shivering, may affect the measurement values.
To avoid the risk of strangulation, keep the air tube and AC adapter cable away from infants and children.
This product contains small components that may pose a choking hazard if swallowed by infants and children.
Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the monitor or other components. This may cause inaccurate results.
Do not use in humid places or where the monitor may be exposed to splashing water. This may damage the monitor.
Do not use the monitor in a moving vehicle, such as a car or aeroplane.
Do not drop the monitor or subject it to strong impacts or vibrations.
Do not use the monitor in places with excessive or insufficient humidity or at temperatures that are too high or too low.
During measurement, watch the arm to make sure the monitor is not causing prolonged impairment of blood circulation.
Do not use the monitor at the same time as other medical electrical (ME) equipment. This may cause the devices to malfunction and/or give inaccurate results.
Avoid bathing, drinking alcoholic or caffeinated drinks, smoking, exercising or eating for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement.
Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
Remove any tight-fitting or thick clothing from the arm when taking a measurement.
Keep still and do not talk while taking a measurement.
Use the cuff only on people whose arm circumference is within the specified range for the cuff.
Make sure the monitor has adjusted to room temperature before taking a measurement. Measuring after a drastic change in temperature may give an inaccurate result. It is advisable to wait about 2 hours for the monitor to warm up or cool down when it is to be used in an environment within the specified operating temperature after being stored at the maximum or minimum storage temperature. For further information, see the operating and storage/transport temperature specifications.
Do not use the monitor beyond the end of its service life.
Do not bend the cuff or air tube excessively.
Do not bend or twist the air tube while taking a measurement. This may cause injury due to interruption of blood flow.
To remove the air tube connector, pull it by gripping the plastic connector at the base of the tube, not the tube itself.
Use only the AC adapter, cuff, batteries and accessories specified for this monitor. Use of unsupported AC adapters, cuffs and batteries may damage the monitor and/or expose it to potential hazards.
Use only the cuff approved for this monitor. Using other cuffs may cause incorrect results.
