Optrex is a product that works through
- Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a cellulose derivative. It is the food additive identified as E464. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is used as a stabiliser and to increase the viscosity of emulsions. In particular, it is used to improve the organoleptic characteristics of flours and other gluten-free products suitable for people with coeliac disease.
- Cetrimide, an antiseptic that is a mixture of three quaternary ammonium compounds: tetradonium bromide, cetrimonium bromide and laurtrimonium bromide.
