Description
What is the rubber tube for nebulisers?
Among the many components of a nebuliser is the rubber tube. Made by Gammadis farmaceutici srl, thanks to its composition it helps the nebuliser device work correctly and precisely. Let's look at the replacement nebuliser tube in detail.
The importance of nebuliser therapy
Nebuliser therapy helps break down therapeutic substances so they can easily reach the mucous membranes of the nose, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs. It is a method of administering medicines that is useful for colds, inflammation and infections of the airways. In addition to the rubber tube, the device also includes a series of different accessories:
- the mouthpiece, to be held between the teeth with the mouth closed and the nose pinched with the fingers or a clip. This is the preferred delivery method for inhalation therapy of the lower airways. Compared with the mask, it prevents the medicine from being deposited in the nose (remember that the nose acts as a filter, limiting the therapeutic effect of the substance)
- the mask, used when the mouthpiece cannot easily be used. It must fit the face well so as not to disperse the solution outside; it must cover both mouth and nose. It is the most comfortable device to use, although the medicine may also be deposited on the skin of the face, the eyes and the nasal mucosa, which can filter the substance before it reaches the target area of treatment
- the nasal fork, used for direct administration to the nasal mucosa
- nebuliser
How to use
As regards nebuliser therapy:
- first prepare the device and accessories; take the nebuliser cup and unscrew the upper part anticlockwise
- put the medicine or saline solution into the reservoir of the cup (follow the doses recommended by your doctor or pharmacist)
- close the cup by screwing it back clockwise and connect it, choosing the accessory you wish to use for the therapy. If in doubt, ask your doctor which accessory to use. After opening the device compartment, connect the tube to the compressed air outlet
plug the device into the mains - switch on the device by moving the power switch to position 1. If the aerosol flow becomes intermittent during therapy, it is advisable to stop for a few seconds and allow the suspended drops of medicine to settle on the walls of the cup
- at the end of the treatment, switch off the device, unplug it, remove the accessory used and clean the device and accessories
Warnings about the nebuliser rubber tube and other components
Maintenance and cleaning are essential for the rubber tube, as for the other components of the nebuliser. After use, it is recommended to disassemble the parts, remove any medicine residue and carry out heat sterilisation; then switch on the compressor and connect the washed cup, and everything will be dry within a few minutes. Once this is done, simply store the dry device in a clean cloth. Disposable components such as the mouthpiece, mask, connecting tube and nebuliser cup should be replaced every 3-4 months with continuous use. Any residual drops of moisture in the nebuliser tube must be removed before use.
