Profilcath Plus AcquaFlate by Teleflex Medical is a dynamic indwelling bladder catheter made of 100% pure silicone, a Class IIB medical device compliant with Directive 93/42/EEC. Size Ch16 with a length of 31 cm, cylindrical tip and two opposed eyes is designed for prolonged urinary drainage. The balloon has a capacity of 5 ml.

Features

The distinctive feature of this model is its longitudinal grooves, which reduce the contact surface between catheter and urethral wall: this allows urethral secretions to drain outwards and limits the risk of pressure sores. The funnel has a special valve compatible with luer and luer-lock syringes; the pre-filled syringe with water and 10% glycerine included in the pack ensures better balloon retention, reduces the risk of displacement and shortens preparation time.

Use and packaging

The device is supplied in a sterile single pack with instructions for use inside, to maintain sterility during transport and preparation for catheterisation, as required by current regulations. Insertion and management are the responsibility of healthcare professionals or those who have received specific training.
