What is Visuxl Gel 10 ml?
Visuxl Gel is a preservative-free lubricating and antioxidant ophthalmic gel based on coenzyme Q10, vitamin E TPGS and cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, suitable for both daytime and night-time use. Cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose is an extremely safe and inert biosynthetic substance that is more effective and longer-lasting. Its cross-linking, and the absence of specific enzymes able to break down the molecule on the eye surface, stabilise the polymer, giving it a longer half-life than conventional hyaluronic acids. Cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose is also a hydrogel which, in its native state, has specific visco-supplementing, hydrating, mucomimetic and substance-delivery properties.
What are the main benefits of Visuxl Gel 10 ml?
The combination of cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose and antioxidant/anti-free-radical substances gives this product a more effective action in cases of:
- Moderate to severe dry eye;
- Foreign body trauma;
- Damage to the continuity of the corneal and conjunctival surface after refractive corneal surgery or corneal transplant, to relieve typical post-surgical symptoms by acting as a cushion between the eyelid and the corneal and conjunctival epithelium;
- Changes to the eye surface linked to metabolic conditions (diabetes).
How does Visuxl Gel 10 ml work?
The action of this ophthalmic gel is made possible by its ingredients and active components:
100 ml of product contain:
- Coenzyme Q10: 100 mg;
- Vitamin E TPGS (D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate): 500 mg;
- Cross-linked hyaluronic acid sodium salt: 100 mg;
- Buffered isotonic solution: q.s. to 100 ml.
Directions for use
Instil 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac of each eye 2-3 times a day or as directed by your eye specialist. Remove the cap. Instil 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac of each eye by pulling the lower eyelid down and looking up. Dispense the product by gently squeezing the bottle. Close the container immediately after use. The solution can be used for up to 2 months after first opening. If using other treatments at the same time, instil the product at least five minutes after administering other medications.
Warnings and contraindications
Do not use the product if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of its components.
If adverse reactions occur, stop using the product and consult your eye specialist.
The product can also be instilled while wearing contact lenses: it does not alter their properties and may help keep soft contact lenses hydrated.
Instil the product at least 5 minutes before or after using other medicines.
The product remains sterile for up to 60 days after the bottle is first opened.
The expiry date refers to the product in unopened packaging, correctly stored.
Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the pack.
Wash your hands before applying the product.
